Description

Fort Bend County's Coronavirus Response website was originally built as a static HTML site. They wanted to migrate the site to a content management system to remove limitations and simplify the management of content. Contracting with Odyssey Information Services I helped migrate the website to WordPress. Using PHP, I built a child theme to reconstruct the design and layout of the website to resemble and improve upon the design of the original static site. I added Bootstrap and wrote some custom PHP and JavaScript functions to enhance the functionality of the site. Some of the features I added to the new site included an accordion sidebar, dynamic post content, embedded interactive documents, and more.

After launching the website I trained the staff how to maintain the site's backend content and created a detailed quick reference guide. I received a lot of accolades from my supervisors and colleagues when I completed the project.
