What I Do
A Little About Me
Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, I have developed an affinity for the outdoors and love opportunities to hike, camp, ski in any place where I can soak in the gorgeous scenery. I also enjoy tinkering with computers and wrote my first program when I was in junior high using Applesoft Basic on an antique Apple IIgs.
After high school, I spent four years at Lubbock Christian University where I obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Computer Information Systems. I took courses in web design, graphic design, marketing, business management, animation and database management. I also participated in extra-curricular activities including choir, social clubs and volunteer work.
After graduating, I worked for three years at a software company as a technical writer and then four years as a petroleum landman/GIS technician in the oil and gas industry. During both of these jobs I maintained a part-time/freelance web design hobby. I worked for multiple clients and gained a lot of experience. I was later hired as a full-time web designer at the International Facility Management Association. During my tenure at IFMA, I received a lot of praise from customers, colleagues and upper management commending my performance. I also received our company’s President’s award on two occasions. After five years, they promoted me to a Team Lead role where I managed the developers on my team and led the company’s web strategy. I worked in this role for almost three years, but I still maintain the hands-on enjoyment of doing the work itself.
If your company would be interested in my services, I would welcome any opportunity to discuss the needs of your business and how I can position myself to meet those needs. Feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!
